Aviation Management

ACADEMIC

FACULTIES
ECONOMICS and ADMINISTRATIVE SCIENCES

Based on the words of the great leader Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, “The future is in the sky”, we believe and trust the aviation sector both as a country and as our university. As Istanbul Arel University, we are proud and excited to finally open the “Aviation Management” department in the 2020-2021 academic year after completing the necessary academic and sectoral infrastructure studies.

Although the first manned flight took place in 1903, the aviation sector has grown rapidly and we can see that it has become large and developed today. The aviation sector, which has entered human life not only in the field of defense but also in the field of civil transportation, and which unites the continents, is the biggest supporter of the world economies, which are more integrated with the globalization movements, and the aviation sector is one of the apple sectors of our country’s eye. It can be seen from these data that the future of the aviation industry in Turkey, which ranks 12th in the world in terms of paid passengers/kilometres and 11th in freight tonne/kilometres, is even brighter.

English is the dominant language of the aviation sector, which is an international field, and we also provide intensive professional English education in our courses. In addition, our university supports our students with foreign language courses opened by the career center, so we wish them to have a career opportunity not only within the borders of the country, but also internationally.

Based on the motto “Career starts with university entrance”, we frequently meet with aviation industry representatives and get their valuable opinions so that our students can complete their professional development quickly. At the same time, we aim to make the courses more dynamic with our academic staff who have worked in very valuable aviation institutions.

Job Opportunities

A total of 58 airports, 37 of which are international throughout our country, provide our graduates with job opportunities in a wide range of fields. For example, they can be employed in different fields such as Flight Operations Specialist, Schedule Planning Specialist, Aviation Specialist, Air Traffic Controller, Cost Control Specialist and Ground Services Specialist. Moreover, the airline has the opportunity to participate not only in domestic operations, but also in foreign operations. In addition, Istanbul airport, which is among the 20 largest airports in the world, has the opportunity to gain international experience for our graduates as it is the HUB point.
