ENGINEERING and ARCHITECTURE

The purpose of engineering education and training is to provide engineering formation by teaching basic sciences and technology in order to carry out technical instruction in constuction in a safe, economical and aesthetic way.In this context, the civil engineer makes these following structures related to “building” or “construction” studies:

 

  • Public and private buildings; housing, collective housing, administration and service buildings, schools, museums, hospitals, health centers, hotels, motels, resorts, accommodation facilities, stadium, indoor sports hall, swimming pool, diving platform, shopping centres, shops, supermarkets, religious buildings, military buildings, agriculture and livestock structures.

 

  • Industrial structures; workshops, organized industrial buildings, factories, energy generation and delivery structures, hydroelectric, thermal and nuclear power plants, switchyard and transmission lines, mineral ore and coal generation and transmission structures, oil drilling rigs, oil platforms and oil pipelines.

 

  • Water structures; dams, lagoons, ponds, coastal arrangement and breakwater structures, ports, loading, unloading and storage facilities, water intake structures, irrigation-drying facilities and engineering structures, water treatment storage and transmission structures, dehydration of wastewater and waste water treatment structures.

 

  • Transportation structures; road transportation structures (highway, bus station, bridge, viaduct, culvert), railway transportation structures (railway, station, bridge, viaduct, culvert), maritime transportation structures (quay, pier, passenger lounge), airline transportation structures (runway) , apron, tower, hangars, passenger lounge), underground transportation structures (metro and tunnels, tube passage, open and multi-storey car park).

 

Job Opportunities

Civil Engineers continue their professional work in private sector organizations or public sector institutions and organizations after graduation.

Civil Engineers can also work independently as subcontractors or contractors in “Project, Consultancy and Engineering Offices”, “Contracting Firms”, “Private Enterprises” in private sector.

In addition to these, civil engineers can find a job with foreign companies at home or abroad.
