1 Defines concepts based on advanced theoretical and/or applied knowledge in the field of communication.

2 Identify communication problems by using the basic concepts of communication science.

3 Identify advanced theoretical and/or practical knowledge in the field of journalism.

4 Defines ownership structure, news reception and news production processes of media organizations.

5 Discusses the problems specific to the field of basic journalism.

6 Explains the structure, features and functions of media organizations.

7 Relates current events with historical, sociological and psychological background.

8 Selects, implements and solves appropriate communication strategies against communication problems.

9 Uses the technical equipment necessary for the field of journalism.

10 Follows current and technological developments specific to the field.

11 Gains the necessary experience in news gathering and writing.

12 In line with professional ethics; uses a news language free from discriminatory expressions and clichés.

13 Becomes a competent media literate by critically analyzing the information coming from mass media.

14 Arranges print and internet based newspapers according to design principles.

15 Takes responsibility, individually or as a team member, in the execution of complex and unpredictable activities encountered in applications related to his field.

16 Carries out an advanced study in his/her field independently.

17 He manages the activities for the development of the employees under his responsibility within the framework of a project.

18 Takes risks and responsibilities in the realization of knowledge, ideas, practices or technologies that bring innovation to the field.

19 Takes responsibility in transforming his knowledge and skills into an idea/approach/technology/product with high social/cultural/economic added value by evaluating the risks and opportunities related to his/her personal, professional and/or work area; develops entrepreneurial competence, individually or as a team member.

20 Evaluates the advanced knowledge and skills acquired in the field with a critical approach.

21 Determines learning needs and plans and manages activities aimed at improving the performance of himself and those under his responsibility in line with learning objectives.

22 He/she informs the relevant persons and institutions on the issues related to his/her field by conveying his/her thoughts and solution proposals for the problems verbally and in writing.

23 He/she shares his/her thoughts on the issues related to his/her field and solution suggestions for problems with experts and non-experts by supporting them with quantitative and qualitative data.

24 Uses information and communication technologies as required by the field, based on the computer usage competence defined in the Advanced Level of the European Computer User License.

25 Follows the developments in the field and communicates with colleagues by using a foreign language (English) at least at the European Language Portfolio B1 General Level.

26 Organizes and implements projects and activities for the social environment in which they live, with a sense of social responsibility.

27 Acts in accordance with social, scientific, cultural and ethical values in the stages of collecting, interpreting, applying and announcing the results related to the field.

28 It carries out its activities in line with the awareness it has gained on the universality of social rights, social justice, quality culture and protection of cultural values, environmental protection, occupational health and safety.
